“Self-care is how you take your power back.” – Lalah Delia
“People often say that this or that person has not yet found himself. But the self is not something one finds, it is something one creates.” – Thomas Szasz
“….Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference.” – Robert Frost
Do you find yourself dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, a difficult life change or a loss of self that’s making it hard for you to go about your day and live the life you want? Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, lost, or frustrated, and do your needs consistently come last on your list of things to do? Life today can be stressful, increasing anxiety, overwhelm, and uncertainty regarding relationships and life demands, which can affect your overall well-being.
My goal is to support your well-being, assist you in overcoming life’s obstacles, and help you live a more rewarding life. I take a personalized, strengths-based, holistic approach to personal recovery. We start by exploring your current situation and existing challenges and then uncover the underlying causes that may be contributing to negative patterns in your life. I integrate evidence-based modalities such as ACT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, IFS, SFBT, and EFT.
I am passionate about helping people find their way during difficult life transitions of all kinds. It can mean processing a loss or a major life change, tackling past problems that affect your current life, or changing habits that prevent you from moving forward. We will work as a team to create a plan that supports your progress and celebrates your successes.
I worked as an occupational therapist for many years, helping individuals and families coping with difficult chronic illnesses and physical challenges. Now that my children are grown and I have experienced marriage and divorce, I have a lived understanding of the complexities of life transitions. I travelled and worked in multiple countries and have experience working with different cultural and religious/spiritual belief systems.
I am passionate about travel, hiking, and camping, and I love spending time with family and friends and love literature, music, and the arts. I’m always eager to try something different, and I particularly enjoy discovering local markets, new walking trails, and interesting spots off the usual beaten path.
