Jennifer Smith is a Registered Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology as well as Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies.
Jennifer provides psycho-educational assessments to children and adolescents. She has extensive experience working with this age group, teaching and supporting them in the community and in a variety of school settings. Jennifer helps to guide parents and their child through the assessment process and provides strategies to help address academic, social, behavioural, and personal challenges.
Jennifer also offers individual counselling to adolescents and adults. She believes that her role as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive environment where you can discover your own strengths and inner resources to help you on your personal journey.
Jennifer utilizes a humanistic and client-centered approach in her counselling. She employs Solution-Focused and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapeutic techniques, as well as Mindfulness activities. She works with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, trauma, and relationship difficulties.
When time allows, Jennifer loves traveling and exploring new places. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
