Jena is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who holds a Bachelor of Science with a Specialization in Psychology as well as a Masters of Counselling. She has training in EMDR, Emotion Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Jena also pulls techniques from CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
She has a wealth of experience to offer clients, having worked in youth and adult addictions at Alberta Health Services for nearly ten years. Jena has led numerous Psycho-educational workshops for individuals experiencing addictions on various topics such as: self-esteem, communications, and concurrent disorders. This has given her the opportunity to work with individuals from a multitude of different backgrounds and socio-economic statuses with a wide variety of presenting concerns.
Jena enjoys working with a variety of clients from teens to older adults on issues ranging from anxiety and depression, stress, trauma, grief and loss, addiction, and performance enhancement. She has a special interest working with the LGBTQ* community and strives to create a safe and accepting space wherever she works. She enjoys working with clients who appreciate a good laugh during therapy, and has a gentle yet straight-forward approach.
In her down time, Jena loves spending time with her family and friends. She is involved in many types of fitness training and enjoys the stress reduction that follows a good strenuous workout.
